After my Iceland Program ended, I hopped the rest of the pond over to the UK. I explored Glasgow on my own for a few days before I joined my parents and brother in Edinburgh. We explored the rainy city during Christmas and took the train down to London to spend the rest of the year. Some highlights were the Winston Churchill War room, Julius Ceasar play at the brutalist Barbican Theater, seeing a family friend I met in London when I was 16 years old, and meeting my dad's friends from when he was 16 and living in Devon, England. Stealing quiet moments in Museums and coffee shops while escaping the rainy weather was a great way to decompress and feel refreshed before the new year.
